Lent is a season that offers us the opportunity to pause and take stock of our relationships, our spiritual lives, and our patterns of behavior. You could think of it as an interior spring cleaning. Perhaps you want to consider, “Is the way I treat others - whether they be friends, colleagues, family, or strangers - in alignment with who God is calling me to be?” Lent is not about berating yourself because you have fallen short, but rather, as the prophet Joel says, “returning [to God] with all your heart…[for God] is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love.” (Joel 2:12-13)
